The series finale of New Amsterdam will air on Tuesday, January 17. Consecutive two-hour episodes begin at 9 p.m. m. ET/PT following the series premiere of Night Court.

This is the description of the 9 p.m. episode. m., "Right Place": "Max and Wilder face a dilemma over the approval of a revolutionary cancer drug while Max uncovers a secret about his own fight against cancer; Reynolds struggles to right a dire medical situation; Iggy desperately trying to help a woman in need.

new amsterdamwill return from its winter hiatus on January 3, and from there, the countdown begins as the show nears its end. The two-hour event will take place on January 17 at 9 p.m. m. ET/PT, following the series premiere.night court.

“For Season 5, you want to end where you started,” he said. "I think for us, let's go back to the energy of the first season and see where we started all the characters and make sure we end them where they started. So for Bloom, it was about her addiction...so her mommy shouldn't be far behind."

The trip down memory lane will help wrap up the series. "So looking at the core issues that we set up for all of our characters in season one, how can we wrap up those things in season five knowing it's the last one?" Schulner added.
