As the name suggests, theAlamodomeis a domed venue that will host this year's NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four. Built in 1993, this 160,000 square foot multipurpose facility is located in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Alamodome parking lot
It has been reported that parking near the Alamodome can be difficult and expensive. Traffic can slow you down as reported delays can range from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the timing of the event. Also, parking at the Alamodome is only available with prior purchase of a pass. If you do not have an Alamodome parking permit, do not attempt to exit near the facility. The most congested exits are 281/37 in Houston, Commerce and Cesar Chavez.
- Parking spaces are available for most events in car parks B and C.
- Parking is $20 per space
- During peak hours, Cherry Street closes to Cesar Chavez Street. To access Lots C and B, head south on Cherry Street from Commerce Street or Houston Street.
- The Alamodome now has two pickup and drop-off locations for event guests. These areas are located on Lot B on South Cherry Street.
- There is also a special location for disabled users on Lot A. Vehicles cannot return to these drop-off or pick-up locations.
Alamodome parking facilities
- Downtown San Antonio has over 30,000 parking spaces in a variety of garages and surface lots for fans to park and get to the game.
- The Via Park and Ride Service provides round-trip transportation from the Crossroads Park & cross-road from the Crossroads Park &Ride and Madla Transit Centers to the Alamodome North Entrance, with service beginning three hours before kickoff and return service continuing one hour after the game .
- The round-trip fare is US$5 and can be conveniently purchased through the VIA goMobile app. Round-trip tokens can also be purchased at Park & Ride locations with cash or credit card, at any VIA information center, or online at VIAonlinestore.net.
- If you are using Uber, Lyft, etc., there is a dedicated pickup and drop-off point across the street in a parking lot near the Tower of the Americas.

Alamodome Tailgating
If you plan to trespass on the dome, lots B and C are the only areas designated for the celebrations. They open 4 hours before the game starts and close 1 hour after the game ends. Here are some rules and guidelines for tailgating:
For the tailgate you need one parking permit per space, which you have to buy in advance online or pay cash (parking is cash only).
We recommend arriving early to get a good seat as they are served on a first come, first served basis. If you're in a large group, try to get together to secure seats close together.

There will be patrol officers in the car parks so be on your best and worst behavior! Violators will unfortunately be fined and expelled from the site.
Alamodome Security
The Alamodome has a transparent bag policy. So if you plan to bring a bag, make sure it meets the guidelines provided. Approved bags are clear bags smaller than 12" x 6" x 12". If you don't have a clear bag, you can bring rigid bags smaller than 5.5" x 8.5". Also, freezer bags are off 1 gallon plastic allowed, medical or diaper bags.
Tips on Concessions
Concessions aren't among the Alamodome's best features, according to reviewers. Options are limited and there are no gluten free options. Beer and water fountain drinks are the only drink options.
We encourage you to take advantage of the many restaurants nearby or before your game on San Antonio's world famous River Walk. The River Walk is a mile away on foot and takes an average of 17 minutes.
Alamodome seat
The view from the seats is hit or miss. The grandstands are more boxy than the usual curve, occasionally offering weird or incredible views depending on location. The stadium isn't big so overall the seating is decent. There are TV monitors on the first level to give you a better view of the ceiling. Also, the seats don't have armrests, but they're comfortable.

The Alamodome Experience
Visitors to the Alamodome have said the stadium is the perfect shape and size for a football or soccer field, but because it's rectangular it's not the best baseball field. The right panel is very small while the middle and left panels are huge.
If you're attending a concert or other musical experience, the Alamodome's sound is considered very good. The amplified sound system could be heard over the sounds of the crowd. If you sit in the corners of the stadium it can be a little harder to hear as the sound is more muffled.
There are many restrooms so you don't have to wait in long lines. However, be prepared to face the crowded sidewalks of the concession stands.

All seats are 35-40 rows from the field, which puts them at an ideal height for seeing the entire field comfortably. The best of the bunch are at midfield - Sections 211-213 and 233-235. For most concerts, the stage is set up at the North end of the field.
